Religious Institutions

And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.
Titus 2:7-8

The Church and more importantly church leaders are called to be the example for the world! As such it is critical that church leaders lead by example. Here at KLG we want to ensure that your teaching is backed by your actions. Leaders cannot teach about leaving an inheritance or even making an estate plan where the church fails to provide a plan for what happens in the event of incapacity or death of the pastor or church leader.

Regardless of how your church is governed the church has a CEO (some person or entity) making final decisions. CEO of major Fortune 500 companies are putting together Succession Plans so that their business, their legacy, their mission carries on, why not the church? God wants the house of God to shine so that others can see that there is more to living for Him doesn’t just end at attending services, but living for Him involves serving Him in everything we do, especially our business that involves His business!

Serving in a dual capacity as both a church leader (I’m a pastor’s wife) and lawyer, I know first-hand what churches need (newly developed churches or longstanding churches); and churches need a Succession Plan—a plan that describes what happens when your church leader passes. Far too often the church leaves this part undone which only leads to confusion, turmoil, and utter chaos. God’s word tells us that without a shepherd, the sheep will scatter, serving as a warning to prepare for the inevitable.

It is God’s will that pastors should plan for their successor and to pass that succession down preferably during their lifetime, as he/she will be able to witness the growth of the church with the changes new leadership will certainly bring, while also having the privilege to be able to advise the newly appointed pastor on any known pitfalls that can be avoided.

The kingdom firm is here to handle kingdom business! Contact us today to update your Succession Plan—it’s critical to the survival of the ministry God birthed through you!
